Welcome to the National Forum for Environment & Health

Just picture Pakistan, where clean air, picturesque green areas, and good community health are the things that you get used to. At the National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH), we are still fighting to capture this picture. Through the awareness, the advocacy, and the action that we do, we are connecting the people, the industries, and the institutions who are dealing with such issues as climate change, nature conservation, and creating a healthier and more sustainable future for the next generations.

National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH)

The National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH) is a concept that was born on June 5, 1999, on the eve of World Environment Day, by a group of professionals with similar views, ecologists, people employed in educational institutions, industrialists, young people, and community workers. This group of people, who had in them the little spark of a great idea – sustainability, among other things, offered not only their time but also their expertise and resources to the double goal of preventing both Pakistan’s environment from being polluted and the risks from climate change, which were increasing, from being reversed.

Right from its first day, the NFEH has always stood for the idea that taking personal, collective voluntary action for the cause is the most impactful way to bring change with long-lasting effects. Along the way, the forum is presently being acknowledged as one of the most committed organizations that deals with the issues of environmental sustainability, community well-being, and social responsibility of business in the country.

Our Mission

Our society is changed by a tiny number of people who dare to do amazing things for mankind and the Earth. At NFEH, we feel that every person, even if the contribution is very small, is a part of saving the amazing cycle of life. We aim to save, safeguard, and advocate for the environment; however, promoting public health and community well-being is our leading mission. By involving people in the cause, encouraging partnerships, and appreciating efforts, we lead the effort to promote environmental and health-friendly practices, making it the right of every citizen.

Our Vision

Our future depends on the world that we create for ourselves, and our vision is what gives us the power to go beyond the present and build a better tomorrow. NFEH sees itself as the centre of the wheel turning to such a future, a place where sustainability and social responsibility are the guiding principles of every decision taken.

To us, the biggest dream is to witness the emergence of Pakistan as a conscious country that makes green growth its way. As such, it would become a nation in which the economic growth trends would never be at the planet’s expense and where every community would flourish in close cooperation with the environment.

Advocacy & Action

NFEH is not afraid to expose the environmental problems that are close to our hearts, such as:

Air Pollution – educating the masses and supporting the idea of clean air in industries and cities through various initiatives.
Water Scarcity – encouraging the importance of water conservation, sustainable water use, and safe drinking water access.
Deforestation – leading mass tree planting drives and holding community-led protests against deforestation.
